30. My Scheduled HKPO Concert-goings in the Season 2010-11

Listening to classical music may probably be my most favourite and important pastime in life. I could hardly imagine how dry and tasteless life would be if I had been deprived of any opportunities to listen to classical music at all! My many years of classical music listening experiences have given me plentiful meaningful aspirations to and appreciations of life. Classical music purifies my soul, lessens my mental burdens, dissipates my worries, smooths my moods, soothes my anger, dispels my loneliness, releases my aches, heals my wounds, diminishes my ailments and, the most important of all, turns me more optimistic about life. Thanks to great composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Schumann, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Mahler, Sibelius, Haydn, Handel, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Brahms, Bruckner, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Ravel, Bartok, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, ...... Their music lights me up as I am chasing after my goals and struggling with the difficulties encountered in life.

The new season of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO) concerts will soon begin in September. HKPO, an orchestra the Hong Kong people are honestly proud of, under the leading of the artistic director and chief conductor Edo de Waart, has recently attained a worldwide acclamation as one of the most competent and outstanding orchestras all over the world.
